GridShock Hosting Terms of Service
Version 2 — November 2026
1. Accounts and Responsibilities
Users and customers are responsible for their accounts, uploaded content, game-server files, modifications, and activities. Services must be used lawfully and in accordance with applicable game and software licenses.
2. Acceptable Use
Malware, unauthorized access, DDoS attacks, fraud, unlawful content, and activities that interfere with our infrastructure or other users are prohibited. GridShock may suspend services to address security threats, abuse, or legal requirements.
3. Availability
GridShock works to keep its services reliable, but does not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, equipment failures, provider outages, and security incidents may affect services. Express commitments in purchased plans remain applicable.
4. Events Beyond Our Control — Force Majeure
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GridShock is not responsible for interruptions or delays directly caused by extraordinary circumstances outside its reasonable control. These may include severe storms, tornadoes, floods, lightning, fires, earthquakes, major power failures, internet backbone outages, major cyberattacks despite reasonable safeguards, war, terrorism, government emergencies, and comparable events.
GridShock will make commercially reasonable recovery efforts when safe and practical. This clause does not override duties or rights that cannot legally be waived.
5. Data and Backups
Users and customers should keep independent copies of game worlds, databases, configurations, and important files. Recovery is not guaranteed unless expressly included in a purchased service or written agreement.
6. Free Hosting — Revocation and Compensation
Free servers, giveaways, complimentary hosting, trial servers, and promotional hosting are provided at GridShock's discretion.
Free hosting is revocable. GridShock may modify, suspend, reclaim, revoke, or permanently discontinue free services at any time, with or without advance notice, to the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to specific written commitments made in an offer.
Recipients of free hosting are not entitled to refunds, financial compensation, replacement services, or guaranteed continued hosting solely because a free service is discontinued, except where required by applicable law or an express written agreement.
Free hosting does not include guaranteed uptime, performance, support, backups, or data retention unless expressly stated. Users should keep independent backups. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to retrieve stored data. Immediate suspension may be necessary for security, abuse, policy violations, or urgent operations.
Related files may be deleted according to GridShock's disclosed retention policy after a free service ends.
GridShock may offer paid hosting as an alternative, but no free user will automatically become a paying customer or be charged without express authorization.
These conditions do not override applicable consumer rights, a promised promotional duration, or express written commitments that must legally be honored.
7. Billing and Paid Services
Pricing, renewals, cancellation rules, refund terms, and applicable charges must be disclosed before purchase. Statutory rights remain applicable.
8. Third-Party Software
Game publishers, Steam Workshop, modifications, plugins, and payment providers may have separate terms. GridShock does not guarantee third-party software availability or compatibility.
9. Warranties and Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, services are provided on an "as available" basis, subject to express promises in the applicable agreement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GridShock excludes indirect, incidental, special, consequential, and punitive damages. Aggregate liability concerning an affected service will not exceed amounts paid for that service during the preceding twelve months, except where law requires otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Updates
Material changes may require notice and renewed agreement. Applicable law and customer rights remain controlling.
